What is the difference between the Math League and MathCounts Club?
MathCounts is one of the major contests for middle school students nation-wide. The MathCounts club is organized by CVMS math department and is operates at a different school day. MathCounts focus on MathCounts problems, and the contests run by the Math League cover a wide range of contents and formats. The Math League High School contests and the contests of AMC series will be continued into high school, such as Torrey Pine and CCA. Therefore participating in the Math League gives CVMS students advantage of an early start. The final contestants in MathCounts are only limited to 8 students, and every participate in Math League can be the contestant, and one can monitor his/her progress over the span of one year. Participating in MathCounts and Math League are mutually benefitial.
